STATE BIRD CHAT GROUPS / MAILING LISTS / LISTSERVS

For state newsgroups/mailing lists/listservs, please check the links pages.

PLEASE NOTE: The groups listed on the ABA website are not part of ABA. Inclusion of any group on these pages does not imply endorsement by the ABA and the ABA is not responsible for the content of a listed site. All these groups have some basic rules for posting. You will usually receive guidelines when you subscribe. KEEP THESE - they will tell you how to interact with the group and what is or is not appropriate for posting, as well as how to unsubscribe.

National Birding Hotline Cooperative
To receive Rare Bird Alert transcripts from across the continent, subscribe to the appropriate NBHC list by sending a message to listserv@listserv.arizona.edu, with the message: SUBSCRIBE BIRDXXXX Yourname (replace XXXX with the area you would like to subscribe to ie EAST, CNTR, or WEST, and Your name with your real name - no handles). No "Subject" is needed. More information can be found at http://www.princeton.edu/~llarson/transhome.html including which states/provinces are covered by the different lists. 

BIRDCHAT
To subscribe to BIRDCHAT, the North American chat group about birds and birding, send a message to listserv@listserv.arizona.edu; in the body of the message type SUB BIRDCHAT Yourfirstname Yourlastname.
