CONVENTIONS & CONFERENCES

Every year the American Birding Association organizes one Convention and one Conference as a service to its membership. The meetings are always held in prime birding areas, usually in the United States or Canada. Both types of meetings offer exciting field trips to local birding hot-spots led by local expert ABA members, interesting day-time workshops and programs, socials, and evening dinners with entertaining speakers. The focus is always on birds and birding. Membership in ABA is required to attend the meetings.

Conventions

Conventions usually attract over 500-600 members. They are six-day events and, in addition to the features mentioned above, include ABA Sales, an authors' book signing, artists, exhibitors, contests, awards, and a general membership meeting. There are options to attend the entire meeting or to select various events "ala carte." The fees are usually inclusive, except for the hotel accommodations.

Conferences

Conferences usually accommodate about 100-120 attendees. They are five day events and include field trips on four days and a half day workshop. The fees are inclusive and include the hotel accommodations.
