How to renew online

You can renew online by checking the appropriate box in the membership form. Please remember to include your ABA member number, credit card details or, if you choose to print out and mail the form, your check or credit card details.

Membership renewal notices are sent in advance of your actual expiration date. We encourage you to send in your renewal with the first renewal notification rather than waiting until after your name is no longer on the mailing list as an active member.

If you move

If you move, please notify us promptly by using the online form or your renewal form or by calling. We are charged by the post office for returned periodicals and incur further expense resending them to your new address. This wastes money needed elsewhere. Only one change-of-address to the Colorado Springs office is necessary. Please remember to include your ABA member number which appears on your publication mailing label

FAQs about your ABA Membership

How do I find out what my membership expiration date is?
A year's ABA membership runs for the next six issues of Birding rather than for a calendar year. Your membership expiration date is on the same line as your ABA member number on your mailing labels for Birding and Winging It; for example, Paid-thru: 5/31/06 means that the last issue of Birding you will receive is the May/June 2006 issue. If you renew in advance of this renewal date you will ensure you receive all issues of Birding within your paid through time period.

If I renew my ABA membership late how do I catch up with missed issues of Birding and Winging It?
If your membership has expired, you must specifically request to be caught up with the issues you have missed; otherwise, we will renew your membership starting with the next issues of Birding and Winging It.

As an ABA member do I get a membership card?
Yes, this will be provided to you as part of your new member packet about 15 days following your join date.

How do I find out what my ABA member number is?
Each mailing label from Winging It and Birding has your member number in the top line above your name and address.

Why did I get two identical charges for membership?
The software system we use requires that we bill and pay one year prior to billing and paying for the second year. When you request a two year renewal, you will see the two separate charges for the same amount, but have an expiration date two years going forward.
